UTMB gear put to the test…!

At long last, having pulled things together over the past couple of weeks, whilst still heading out on various trail training runs with my gear, I’ve managed to finally pack my UTMB gear and give it a ‘test run…!’ 😀

All the mandatory gear has been pack (obviously) as well as a few additions, couple of buffs, few additional plasters and scissors in the first aid bag, along with some random food/snacks, that I plan to have packed for the event…

Total weight was 3.2Kg (without food & water), 4.4Kg (with food alone) & 5.4Kg (with food & water).

LIST:

Mobile phone
Personal cup or tumbler 15cl minimum (water bottle not acceptable)
Stock of water minimum 1 litre
Two torches in good working condition with replacement batteries
Survival blanket 1.40m x 2m minimum
Whistle
Adhesive elastic band enable making a bandage or a strapping (mini 100cm x 6 cm)
Food reserve
Jacket, with a hood, – Inov8 150 Stormshell
Long running leggings – Gore windproof
Additional warm midlayer top – Under Armour: Cold Gear Thermo
Inov8 cap
Sunglasses
2 buffs
Warm hat – Gore
Warm and waterproof gloves – Gore lightweight windproof & Seal Skin wind/waterproof
Waterproof over-trousers – OMM

Additional:
Poles – Leki Carbon
GoPro camera and Gorilla Pod
Identity papers – Drivers License Card (passport if required)
First Aid bag – additional plasters and compeed
Genearl food/snacks
Plastic poncho
Toilet roll
Compass is recommended and I have this on my Suunto watch
– possibility of sunscreen too, depending on forecast…
